My Name is Mrs. Doersch (pronounced 'DERSH'). I fell in love with drums and percussion when a middle school band performed at my elementary school. I signed up for percussion in band in the 7th grade and enjoyed band all through high school - and eventually earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance. I have played in every kind of ensemble imaginable - symphony orchestras, rock bands, church ensembles, Broadway-style musicals...
One day I was hired into a Celtic rock band and as a result I fell in love with the sound of bagpipes and fiddles, so that has become my favorite music to play. I was hired into Busch Gardens VA to play their Riverdance-style show...
Busch Gardens was so much fun - I thought you'd like to see this picture from a Howl-O-Scream show where they dressed the drummers as cavemen. :-D
Currently I play Celtic music with a group of Canadian rockers called 'The American Rogues'. We perform all over the United States and Canada!
I love teaching 6th Grade General Music at MSA!
I look forward to getting to know all my students and learning about what music inspires YOU!
